JUNE 2006
Thanks to all who attended my opening as featured artist at the Warwick Gallery in Elverson, PA on Saturday, June 3rd. Tom and Linda Killingsworth put on a great event, and I look forward to displaying in this venue for years to come.
Manayunk Events
On June 11th, I will be displaying my cycling art in front of Orbit Gallery on Main Street in Manayunk. This of course will coincide with the big bicycle race that will pass through Manayunk all day. Also look for me in Manayunk on Saturday and Sunday, June 24th and 25th, for the Manayunk Arts Festival. My booth this year will be towards the eastern end of the street. I will have several original oil paintings as well as all of my prints available for purchase.
Arts on the Avenue
On Wednesday, June 28th, I will be participating for the 4th consecutive year in the Arts on the Avenue event, sponsored by Sunoco Welcome America. This takes place on Broad Street, between Chestnut and Locust, from 6-10pm. Essentially it is a live jazz venue with food concessions and a few select artists. I intend to be working on a large canvas, weather permitting. I will also have a booth with other paintings and prints for sale.
Open Studio Tour
On October 14th & 15th, my studio will be open to the public as part of the Philadelphia Open Studio Tours (POST). This is the fourth time that I have participated in this exciting event, where dozens of area artists open their studios simultaneously. My studio is located at 616 S. 9th St., between South and Bainbridge Sts. There are several other studios, galleries, and cafes in the immediate vicinity, who will also be open to the public. It's a great opportunity to network, meet the actual artists behind the artwork, and purchase directly from them.
I am also anxiously awaiting the release of Sylvester Stallone's latest effort in the boxing genre, Rocky VI, as my painting of the Italian Market (see March update) was chosen as a backdrop feature of "Adrienne's Restaurant".
