Keep "Gross" in Philadelphia
I have recently become involved in a local effort to keep the classic Thomas Eakins painting, "The Gross Clinic" in Philadelphia. Click here for more information on how you can help to keep this icon of Phildelphia culture where it belongs.
Newly Released Print
I have just published a new offset lithograph (image at right) from a large oil painting, "Philadelphia from Belmont Plateau". It is printed on 100 lb. matte coverstock, signed and numbered in graphite below the image. It is the first artwork to depict the recent addition to the Philadelphia skyline of the Cira Centre Building. I also included the soon-to-be-completed Comcast building, which I based on the architect's renderings. This new structure will transform the Philadelphia skyline and define its appearance well into the 21st century. I designed the print so that it could be framed in a "fine-art" style with the printed banner cropped; or in a souvenir style with the banner retained.
The print is available for $75.00 and can be purchased directly from me. Call my cellphone at 267-679-7853 or send an email to charlescushing@mail.nu. I will also be selling my prints at my Open Studio party - see next paragraph for more details.
Two Penn Center Exhibit
I continue to maintain a revolving display of artwork by myself as well as other select artists (mostly PAFA alumni) in the lobby of 2 Penn Center at 15th & JFK Blvd. (just south of the "LOVE" statue). All artwork in this exhibit is available for purchase. Look for current and upcoming displays of work by Paul Reuther, Mark Campana, Jeff Dion, and myself. The exhibit is accessible Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.
